Basic and Industrial Microbiology Department

The Department of Basic and Industrial Microbiology is the newest department that has been established with the application of academic staff, whose specialty is microbiology, who has been working under the General Biology Department for many years. The academic staff, consisting of faculty members specialized in various fields of microbiology, contributes to education with their undergraduate and graduate courses. It contributes to the universal knowledge accumulation with internal and external projects carried out in the Anaerobic Culture, Biotechnology, Industrial Microbiology, Fermentation, Fungiculture and Food Microbiology Laboratories with modern equipment. These laboratories, in which graduate students as well as graduate students have the opportunity to participate in the research, serve to train future scientists in this way. In addition, department staff can provide microbiological analysis and consultancy services that will come through revolving funds upon request.

Field studies: Aerobic and anaerobic treatment of wastewater, Halophilic and halotolerant microfungus variety and metabolites, Fungal enzymes, Medicinal and industrial importance macrofungus metabolites, Fermentation, Biodegradation, Bioremediation, food microbiology, fermented foods and lactic acid bacteria identification, bacteriocins, industrial use of lactic acid bacteria, alternative food preservation methods etc. Includes topics.
